QIB to authorise 6 banks for sukuk issue

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) on Thursday announced assigning six banks to issue sukuk in US dollars, namely Citi, Emirates NBD Capital, HSBC, Noor Bank, Qinvest, and Standard Chartered Bank, according to a filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

The banks will cooperate to manage the five-year, unsecured, dollar-denominated, Regulation S sukuk issue and arrange meetings with international investors in London starting 15 May.

The bank’s profits grew 12.8% to reach QAR 555 million in the first quarter in 2017, compared to QAR 492 million in Q1-16.

The stock closed at QAR 99.28, after adding 0.81%, on Wednesday.
