Riyadh – Mubasher: Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, uncovered the design for Six Flags Qiddiya, the first mega entertainment and sports city that’s being developed as part of Saudi Arabia’s plans for life after oil, Saudi Gazette reported.
The new entertainment city will cover 334 square kilometres outside of Riyadh and have a Six Flags Entertainment Corp.
“Our vision is to make Six Flags Qiddiya a theme park that delivers all the thrills and excitement that audiences from all over the world have come to expect from the Six Flags brand, and to elevate those experiences with authentic themes connected to the location,” Michael Reininger, CEO of QIC, commented on the megaproject.
Reininger said that Six Flags Qiddiya will be one of the key entertainment features in Qiddiya’s first phase when it opens in 2023.
“We are thrilled to be part of a project of such scale and scope and are proud to celebrate this milestone with Qiddiya,” David McKillips, president of Six Flags International Development Company, said.
Six Flags Qiddiya will feature 28 rides and attractions across the six lands: The City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune and Grand Exposition.
The entertainment is set to become the theme park that breaks all records for family fun and entertainment in the Kingdom.
