QNB limits ownership in capital

Mubasher: Qatar National Bank (QNB) on Tuesday said its board approved the proposed amendments concerning Article 7 which stipulates that no person whether natural or judicial shall own more than 5% of the bank’s shares other than by way of inheritance or testament, according to the lender’s statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

The current article states that any natural or juridical person’s ownership in the bank is 2% of the shares other than by way of inheritance or testament.

"An extraordinary general assembly will be convened to present and approve the proposed amendment to QNB’s Articles’ of Association by adding an agenda item," the statement concluded, but did not mention the date of the planned shareholder meeting.
