QSE Investors shy away on political woes, while oil weighs

Doha – Mubasher: Falling oil prices and political turmoil continue overshadow the Qatari bourse, as investors are saving their liquidity in anticipation of a healthier global environment  for trading, according to an analyst.

“Oil price, the the market’s main driver, besides the political turmoil in the region and international tension, are factors  with direct impact on the bourse, especially on the local and foreign portfolios which invest in the market and should be hunting for investment opportunities,” Ayoub Eshban, financial analyst and economic advisor, told Mubasher.

“Blue chips on the Qatar Stock Exchange, on the other hand, may represent the window of opportunity for market investors, as those stocks are still expected to deliver decent profits by the end of the year,” he explained.

QSE main index closed Wednesday with a fall of 0.95% or about 100.30 points to the level of 10,511.50 points.
