QSE adds 2.58% at Tuesday's close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading session in the green, encouraged by the growth of six sectors amid thin trade.

The general index jumped 2.58%, or 231.21 points, to 9,178.18 points.

The QSE’s liquidity declined to QAR 246.67 million on Tuesday from QAR 418.84 million on Monday, while the trading volume decreased to 9.34 million shares versus 20.88 million in the previous session.

The transportation sector topped the gainers adding 3.90% after Qatar Navigation surged 6.15%., followed by the industrial sector, which levelled up 2.43%, as Qatari Investors Group increased 4.09%.

Similarly, the banking sector rose 2.37%, boosted by Masraf Al Rayan and Qatar National Bank (QNB) which surged 5.33% and 2.09%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector fell 0.12% after Qatar Islamic Insurance and Qatar Insurance dropped 1.63% and 0.16%, respectively.

Doha Insurance’s stock led the QSE’s risers adding 7.29%, while Al Ahli’s stock topped the losers sliding 4.37%.

Qatar First Bank, which rose 2.15%, spearheaded the QSE’s trading volume with 1.2 million shares, while Masraf Al Rayan led the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 41.5 million.
