Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading session on a positive note, helped by a massive growth of all sectors.
By 09:45 am Qatar time, the general index grew 0.31% to 9.033.10 points, adding 27.76 points.
The bourse's turnover amounted to QAR 7.2 million after 198,600 shares were exchanged through 218 transactions.
The telecommunication sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.53%, as Ooredoo rose 3.70%.
Similarly, the industrial sector went up on the back of Qatar Electricity and Water Company’s 1.37% increase, while the banking sector inched up 0.16% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank and Al Khalij Commercial Bank levelled up 0.49% and 0.42%, respectively.
Qatar Insurance’s stock, which advanced 2.09%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 76,100 shares, while Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock, which grew 2.11%, headed the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 9.9 million.
