Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) opened Monday with a positive performance after its main index surged 58.09 points, or 0.57%, to 10,309.71 points.
By 9:45 am Qatar time, the bourse’s trading volume reached 540,520 shares exchanged at a turnover of QAR 11.04 million through 392 transactions.
The banking sector led gainers with 1.18% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock rose 1.63%, while the industrials sector inched up 0.13% after Industries Qatar’s stock edged up 0.30% and Gulf International Services’ stock grew 0.05%.
On the other hand, the transportation sector shed 0.60% after Gulf Warehousing Company’s (GWCS) stock fell 0.98%, while Qatar Gas Transport’s (Nakilat) stock decreased 0.94%.
Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development Company’s stock, up 1.44%, topped the market in terms of traded volume after 252,500 shares were exchanged, while Masraf Al Rayan’s stock, which advanced 0.86%, generated the highest liquidity with QAR 2.2 million.
