QSE adds 59 pts at Wednesday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Wednesday’s trading session in the green, supported by the growth of six sectors, coinciding with high liquidity.

The general index rose 59.10 points, or 0.60%, to finish at 9,990.17 points.

The bourse’s liquidity increased to QAR 289.16 million on Wednesday from QAR 187.97 million on Tuesday, while the trading volume levelled up to 7.59 million shares against 5.24 million in the previous session.

The goods and services sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.67% as Mannai Corp. jumped 6.36%.

Similarly, the industrial sector went up 0.56% on the back of Qatari Investors Group’s 3.07% increase, while the banking sector advanced 0.54% after Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) and Qatar National Bank (QNB) rose 2.90% and 0.49%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector was the bourse’s only decliner 0.22% as Doha Insurance and  Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance retreated 6.53% and 1.90%, respectively.

By the end of the session, QNB’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity with a turnover of QAR 75.6 million, while United Development Group’s stock, which rose 0.55%, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 992,800 shares.
