QSE adds 70 pts at Thursday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s trading session on a positive note, backed by the growth of six sectors.

The general index edged up 0.68%, gaining 70.01 points to close the last session of the week at 10350.35 points.

The QSE’s liquidity levelled up to QAR 198.73 million ($54.58 million) on Thursday, compared to QAR 158.59 million ($43.56 million) on Wednesday, while traded volume retreated to 7.56 million shares, against 7.97 million shares in the previous session.

The industrials sector topped the risers with 0.83%, driven by the growth of seven stocks, headed by Aamal Co., which added 2.94%.

The banking sector soared 0.49%, after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock rose 0.29%.

On the other hand, the goods sector fell 0.03%, pressured by Qatari German for Medical Devices, which dipped 5.83%.

Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance grew 9.78%, while Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding tumbled 7.32%.

QNB’s stock topped the QSE in terms of trading value with QAR 44.37 million, while Qatar Aluminium Manufacturing Company’s (QAMCO) stock, up 0.92%, posted the highest trading volume with 2.47 million shares.
