QSE closes 0.17% down

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s session with a decline of 0.17% or 16.69 points to the level of 9,664.85 points.

The insurance was the worst performing sector as it fell 1.23%, followed by consumer goods and services with a 0.84% decrease.

The index was also affected by the drop in real estate and banking sectors by 0.63% and 0.42% respectively.

Meanwhile, the telecom, industrial and transportation rose by 1.5%, 0.39% and 0.37% respectively.

Turnover shrank to QAR 151.76 million from QAR 178.44 million on Monday.

Trading volume also decreased to 4.02 million shares from 4.87 million shares exchanged yesterday.

Gulf International led the green list by rising 2.36%, while Ahli Bank topped losers after falling 2.58%.

Gulf International made the highest trading activity with 861,130 shares exchanged at QAR 31.8 million.
