QSE closes 0.42% down on telecom sector

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday falling 0.42% or 40.82 points to the level of 9,675.66 points.

Trading volume decreased to 2 million shares from 4.73 million shares exchanged on Thursday. Turnover also declined to QAR 64.7 million from QAR 185.27 million.

The telecom was the worst performing stock, affected by the fall in Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar by 1.87% and 1.25% respectively.

The industrial sector also shrank 0.71% as Qatar Electricity and Water, Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding and Industries Qatar retreated by 2.1%, 0.87% and 0.3% respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector advanced 0.01% thanks to the rise in Ezdan and United Development by 0.18% and 0.27% respectively, while Barwa and Mazaya declined 0.64% and 0.51% respectively.

The index closed Thursday’s session at the level of 9,716.48 points.
