Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) main index rose at Tuesday’s close by 1.64% or 171.23 points to the level of 10,599.95 points, its highest level since four months.
The index was backed by the rise in some blue chips as QNB, Ezdan and Industries Qatar increased by 2.47%, 1.19% and 0.84% respectively.
Trading volume leapt to 7.7 million shares from 4.37 million shares exchanged on Monday, turnover also increased to QAR 244.33 million from QAR 136.13 million.
The banking sector advanced 2.05% as Alijarah leapt 4.23%, the real estate sector levelled up 1.29% due to a rise of 2.53% in United Development and 1.48% in Mazaya Qatar.
The industrial sector ascended 1.03%, backed by a 2.71% rise in Gulf International.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 1.48 million shares, while Industries Qatar made the highest turnover of QAR 42.63 million.
Qatar General Insurance topped the red list after falling 8.51%.
