QSE closes Monday higher

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s trading session in the green, encouraged by the growth of the banking and industrial sectors, amid heavy liquidity.

The general index rose 132.43 points, or 1.47%, to finish at 9,125.24 points.

The QSE’s liquidity increased to QAR 646.43 million on Monday from QAR 250.78 million on Sunday, while the trading volume jumped to 12.036 million shares against 7.24 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.73% as Ezdan Holding Group went up 2.64%.

Similarly, the banking sector levelled up 1.70% due to Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) 2.85% increase, while the industrial sector grew 1.37% as Industries Qatar rose 2.83%.

By the end of the session, Vodafone Qatar’s stock, which declined 1.42%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 2.1 million shares, while QNB’s stock topped the market in terms of liquidity with QAR 340.3 million.
