QSE closes Monday in green

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s trades in the green for the second session in a row, pushed by the hike of six sectors.

The general index added 0.12% or 9.62 points to 7,767.7 points.

By the end of Monday’s trades, six sectors jumped, led by consumer goods and services sector which soared 4.1%. QSE saw the rise of six stocks, topped by Medicare Group which gained 10%.

The real estate sector advanced 2.75% on Ezdan Holding Group’s 4.7% increase. The banking sector levelled up 0.28%, encouraged by National Leasing Holding Company which climbed 5.3%.

Meanwhile, the telecommunication sector was the only decliner, tumbling 2.9% after Qatari phone carrier Ooredoo dipped 4.06%.

On Monday, liquidity raised by 5.3% to QAR 290.23 million from QAR 275.68 million on Sunday. Trading volume went down 13.5% to 12.48 million shares against 14.43 million shares in the previous session.

QNB led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 55.09 million, while Vodafone Qatar topped the bourse in terms of trading volume, surging 4.01% to 2.39 million shares.
