Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s trading session gaining 1.21% or 131 points, closing at 10920.29 points, its highest level in 9 months.
The main index rose on the back of leading stocks, with QNB and Ezdan adding 2.26% and 0.2% respectively, while Industries Qatar went up 1.36% and registered the highest trading value at QAR 116.57 million.
Five sectors rose today, led by banking with 1.84%, followed by telecom with 1.01% on the back of Vodafone Qatar the session’s biggest gainer by adding 6%, and also the most active in terms of trading activity with 2.48 million traded shares.
The real estate sector levelled up 0.93%, with all of its stocks rising today.
The industrial sector added 0.53%, followed by consumer goods and services with 0.21%, while transportation came in last with 0.16%.
On the other hand, insurance was the only declining sector, slipping 0.05%, with Doha Insurance dropping 4.55%.
Total traded volume increased on Monday to 11.6 million shares from 6.71 million last session, with a total turnover of QAR 509.6 million, compared to QAR 274.05 million on Sunday.
