QSE closes Sunday in green

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s trades in the green, as the general index rose 0.2% or 15.6 points to 7,758.08 points.

By the end of Sunday’s trades, six sectors jumped, led by the real estate sector which advanced 5.8% on Ezdan Holding Group’s 9.93% rise.

The transportation sector increased 2.24%. Gulf Warehousing Company and Qatar Navigation added 9.47% and 3.15%, respectively, overriding Qatar Gas Transport’s 0.52% drop.

Meanwhile, the banking sector dipped 0.08% at close, pressured by the fall of the index's biggest member Qatar National Bank (QNB) by 1.04%. The Commercial Bank tumbled 0.88%.

Medicare Group, Qatari Investors Group and Islamic Holding Group topped the gainers, growing 10%, while Industries Qatar’s stock topped the decliners losing 2.5%.

On Sunday, liquidity increased by 72.1% to QAR 275.68 million from QAR 160.17 million on Thursday. Trading volume grew 58.8% to 14.43 million shares against 9.09 million shares in the previous session.

QNB led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 72.56 million, while Qatar First Bank’s topped the bourse in terms of transactions, surging 7.28% to 12.53 million shares.
