QSE closes Thursday down

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s session in red, dragged down by six sectors, and a number of leading stocks.

The main index fell 0.26% or 20.93 points to 8,132.05 points.

This fall was influenced by the drop in major stocks, led by Al Rayan with 1.46%, Qatar Industries with 0.54%, and QNB with 0.22%, which collectively represent 41% of the relative weight of the main index.

The real estate sector led the losers, with 1.62%, dragged down by a collective decrease in stocks, led by Ezdan with 2.35%.

The banks sector also slid 0.2%, following the decline in many stocks, led by Qatar Oman with 1.87%, however; it was not influenced by the rise in Qatar Islamic Bank by 3.02%.

On the other hand, the insurance sector rose solely by 0.3%, pushed up by Qatar Insurance with 0.56%.

Turnover shrank to QAR 151.97 million from QAR 181.22 million, with trading volume declining to 6.64 million shares from 8.69 million shares.

Vodafone Qatar, down 0.37%, was the most active in terms of trading volume with 1.5 million shares, while QNB achieved the highest turnover with QAR 46.7 million.
