Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s trading in the red, dragged by the fall of six sectors.
The general index declined 74.6 points, or 0.85%, to finish the last session of the week at 8,749.65 points.
By the end of the session, the QSE’s liquidity increased 54.8% to QAR 241.43 million from QAR 155.95 million on Wednesday, while the trading volume went up 104% to 11.18 million shares against 5.48 million in the previous session.
The telecommunication sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 2%, followed by the industrial and real estate sectors, which declined 1.17% and 0.04%, respectively.
The transportation sector was the bourse’s only riser adding 0.3% as Qatar Navigation Company and Gulf Warehousing levelled up 1.71% and 0.1%, respectively.
Vodafone Qatar, which advanced 0.44%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 4.68 million shares, generating QAR 43.06 million in liquidity.
