QSE closes Thursday in red

Doha - Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s trading session losing 0.14% or 14.87 points, and closed at the level of 10,357.33 points.

Traded volume increased by 11% to 6 million shares from 5.4 million shares yesterday, while total turnover declined by 29% to QAR 203.57 million compared to QAR 286.7 million on Wednesday.

The insurance sector declined 1.06%, as Qatar Insurance (QIC), Doha Insurance, and Qatar Islamic Insurance lost 1.25%, 1.2%, and 1% respectively.

The real estate sector levelled down by 0.27%, as UDC and Barwa lost 0.9% and 0.89% respectively, while the banking sector slipped 0.06%.

On the other hand, the industrial sector added 0.23%, as Gulf International and Industries Qatar increased by 0.14% and 0.32%, while telecom grew by 0.14% as Ooredoo went up by 0.32%.

Ahli Bank led the session declined with 1.37%, while Zad was the highest gainer with 4.6%.

Vodafone Qatar registered was the most active in traded volume with 2.6 million shares, while Investors Group registered the highest traded value with QAR 41.5 million.
