QSE closes below 10,000 level; loses 117 pts

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) broke below 10,000 points at Thursday’s close after falling by 1.16% or 117.07 points to the level of 9,955.99 points.

The index was pressured by the fall in some blue chips as Ooredoo declined 3.16%, QNB shrank 2%, Masraf Al Rayan dropped 1.76% and Industries Qatar slid 1.57%.

Trading volume increased to 8.5 million shares from 5.59 million shares exchanged on Wednesday, turnover also rose to QAR 305 million from QAR 219.18 million.

The telecom sector decreased 2.68% as Vodafone Qatar retreated 0.67%, the banks sector fell 1.42% due to a decline of 2.2% in QIIB and 1.82% in Islamic Holding.

On the other hand, the real estate sector rose by 0.4% as Ezdan Holding grew 1%.
