Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s trading rising 0.9% or 98.57 points to the level of 11,053.88 points; its highest level since nine months.
The index was backed by the rise in blue chips as Commercial Bank of Qatar, Doha Bank and QIB grew by 2.63%, 2.4% and 1.5% respectively.
Trading volume decreased to 6.77 million shares from 7.62 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also shrank to QAR 230.58 million from QAR 279.1 million.
The insurance sector was the best performer after adding 2.21%, supported by an increase of 2.82% in Qatar Insurance. The industrial sector also leapt by 1.06%.
Meanwhile, the real estate sector declined by 0.01%.
