QSE closes in red on telecom, banks stocks

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell at Wednesday’s close by 0.02% or 2.03 points to the level of 9,738.77 points.

Trading volume decreased to 4.66 million shares from 6.65 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also declined to QAR 163.77 million from QAR 245.3 million.

QNB, Ezdan Holding and Ooredoo shrank by 0.66%, 0.07% and 0.44% respectively.

The telecom sector dropped 0.52% as Vodafone Qatar lost 0.88%, the stock made the biggest trading volume activity of 1.58 million shares. The banking sector slid 0.25% due to a 0.6% decrease in Doha Bank.

The real estate and consumer goods & services sectors retreated by 0.09% and 0.15% respectively.

Medicare Group led gainers by adding 3.11%.

On the other hand, the industrial sector rose by 0.3%, the insurance sector leapt 0.18% and the transportation sector increased 0.06%.

QNB made the highest turnover of QAR 35.88 million.
