QSE closes on negative note

Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed on negative note on Monday on the decline of five major market sectors topped by the real estate and banking ones.

The benchmark slide 0.22% or 24 points to 10,702.03 points.

At the sectorial level, the banking sector slide 0.31% followed by the real estate, telecommunication and industrial sector as they lost 0.40%, 0.27% and 0.10% respectively.

The market witnessed 9.2 million shares changed hands worth QAR 264.22 million.

Mazaya Holding was today’s best performer in respect to traded volumes with 1.9 million shares changed hands, while Barwa stock was the best performer in terms of trading values as it recorded turnover worth QAR 28.35 million.
