QSE deepens losses at Wednesday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday’s session in red, after a collective drop in all sectors.

The main index declined 1.03% or 85.16 points to 8,144.11 points.

The insurance sector led the losers, with 3.86%, pressured by the drop in three sectors, led by Qatar Insurance with 5.71%.

The industrials sector declined 1.46%, as all stocks fell, led by Industrial Manufacturing with 5.84%.

The banks also slid 1.07%, dragged down by the drop in 11 stocks, led by the biggest loser, Ahli Bank, with 6.39%, despite the rise in profits in Q3-17 by 3.1%.

During the transactions 39 shares traded; however, only three stocks rose, topped by Dlala with 2.64%, backed by the rise in quarterly profits by 120.8% to QAR 3.29 million.

Trading activities shrank, as turnover declined to QAR 150.57 million from QAR 237.11 million, while trading volume also fell to 4.9 million shares from 8.88 million shares.

Investment holding, down 1.41%, achieved the highest trading volume, with 755,450 shares, while QNB topped the trading value at QAR 28.16 million, declining 0.88%.
