QSE drifts lower on banking, insurance sectors

Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) finished Thursday in the red zone after its main index lost 13.65 points, or 0.14%, to 9,960.95 points.

Blue-chip stocks weakened the trading activity today after the Commercial Bank, QNB and Electricity and Water fell 4%, 1.92% and 1.2% respectively.

The telecom sectors led the gainers with a 2.75% rise on Vodafone that rose by 0.68%.

The real estate increased 1.07% on the rise of United Development and Barwa by 0.8% and 0.5%, respectively.

On the flipside, the banks and insurance sectors declined by 1.45% and 0.66%, respectively.

Trading volume fell to 8.67 million shares from 11.23 million a session earlier and the market turnover also decreased to QAR 361.3 million from QAR 418.2 million on Wednesday.
