QSE drops 10.98 points at Thursday’s close

Doha - Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed 0.1% or 10.98 points lower at 10,456.01 points on Thursday.

The transportation sector topped decliners, falling 0.54% as Nakilat and Qatar Navigation decreased 0.8% and 0.67%, respectively.

The industry sector slid 0.38% led by Industries Qatar with 1.16%, followed by Qatar National Cement Company and Qatar Electricity and Water Company, shedding 1% and 0.92%, respectively.

Consumer goods & services edged down 0.06% as Salam International Investment weighed down 0.38%, while Woqod and Medicare Group declined 0.22% and 0.1%, respectively.

On the other hand, the banking sector increased 0.07% as QNB rose 0.75% and Dlala Holding went up 0.18%

Qatar International Islamic Bank’s (QIIB) stock levelled down 1.36%, whereas Aamal increased 2.1%.

Traded volume declined to 7.3 million shares on Thursday against 8.36 million shares on Wednesday. Similarly, liquidity dropped to QAR 205 million from QAR 240.27 million in the previous session.

Ezdan Holding led stocks in terms of traded volume with 1.86 million shares, while Masraf Al Rayan led in terms of value with QAR 29.92 million.

Earlier on Thursday, QSE’s benchmark index slid 0.29% to 10,436.37 points.
