QSE drops 19 pts at Tuesday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index fell 19.22 points, or 0.18%, to close at 10,382.18 points on Tuesday.

The QSE’s liquidity climbed to QAR 264.38 million on Tuesday from QAR 202.87 million in the previous session, while trading volume increased to 10.30 million shares, compared to 9.73 million on Monday.

The industrials sector headed decliners and shed 2.05%, as Industries Qatar fell 3.12% after reporting a 46.84% year-on-year profit drop to QAR 674.04 million in the first quarter of 2019.

On the other hand, the banking sector added 1.08% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) grew 2.14%.

Al Khaleej Takaful Insurance led fallers after dropping 7.35%, whereas Doha Insurance Group topped gainers with 2.56%.

Qatar First Bank’s (QFB) stock, which declined 0.93%, registered the highest trading volume of 3.62 million shares, while QNB’s stock spearheaded the QSE in terms of turnover with QAR 55.91 million
