QSE drops 196pts on Thursday

 

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index slide 1.96% or 196 points to 9,813.96 points on Thursday.

Turnover was down 2.1% to QAR 230.01 million compared to QAR 235.04 million on Wednesday, while traded volume fell 10% to 7.31 million shares traded against 8.12 million in the previous session.

QSE’s seven sectors ended the session in the red, led by insurance which lost 3.08%, followed by real estate, telecoms and banks which declined 2.37%, 2.36% and 2.06%, respectively. Transport was the lowest faller with 0.65%.

Ahli Bank led losers, dropping 7%, whereas Milaha and Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Co. were the only gainers, adding 0.79% and 0.5%, respectively.

Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock on QSE today, following a turnover QAR 23.95 million after 2.14 million shares were exchanged. The stock stabilised at QAR 11.22.
