QSE drops 2.09 pts at Wednesday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) inched down 0.02% or 2.09 points to reach 9,863.69 points in Wednesday’s early trades.

By 10:05 am Qatar time, the market was weighed by the fall of three sectors, led by the real estate sector which declined 0.48% as Barwa Real Estate shed 1.08%, Mazaya Qatar for Real Estate Development lost 0.58%, and Ezdan Holding Group dropped 0.33%.

The consumer goods and services sector declined 0.46% after Qatar Fuel (Woqod), Qatari German for Medical Devices, and Mannai Corporation went down 1%, 0.55%, and 0.13%, respectively.

On the other hand, three sectors rose, topped by the insurance sector with a 0.33% increase, followed by the banks sector with a 0.16% growth as Islamic Holding Group climbed 1.60% and National Leasing Holding (Alijarah) increased 1.22%.

Liquidity reached QAR 19.93 million, after 574,710 shares were exchanged through 335 transactions.

Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock in terms of trading volume with 208,610 shares traded, while Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) led stocks in terms of turnover after generating QAR 8.03 million.
