QSE drops 20.75 pts at Wednesday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell 0.2% or 20.75 points to 10,315.55 points in Wednesday’s early trades.

By 10 am Qatar time, all the sectors declined, with the exception of the insurance sector which gained 0.57%.

The transportation sector shed 0.33% after Gulf Warehousing and Nakilat lost 0.94% and 0.57%, respectively.

The industrials sector levelled down 0.22% as Qatar Electricity and Water, Gulf International Services, and Mesaieed Petrochemical Holding tumbled 1.73%, 1.1%, and 0.2%, respectively.

The banks sector went down 0.16% pressured as Qatar International Islamic Bank lost 0.94%, followed by Qatar National Bank (QNB) with 0.54%, and Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding with 0.45%.

Qatar Islamic Insurance led losers with 3.69%, while Doha Insurance led risers with 4.63%.

Liquidity reached QAR 11.17 million after 544,180 shares were traded through 366 transactions.

Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development led in terms of trading value and volume with QAR 3.7 million and 272,540 shares traded.
