QSE drops 22 pts at Wednesday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) fell 0.22% or 22.01 points to reach 9,970.83 points in Wednesday’s opening trades.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, five sectors declined, led by transportation which shed 0.77% as Nakilat and Qatar Navigation (Milaha) lost 1.02% and 0.88%, respectively.

The industrials sector decreased 0.40% after Aamal tumbled 1.81%, followed by Gulf International Services with 0.58%, and Qatar Investors Group with 0.53%.

The telecoms sector dropped 0.35% as Ooredoo lost 0.58%.

On the other hand, the services sector inched up 0.01% after Widam Food Company increased 0.63%, while the insurance sector was stable.

Liquidity reached QAR 32.14 million after 1.02 million were shares traded through 422 transactions.

Doha Bank led in terms of traded volume with 204,740 shares, while Medicare Group was the most active stock with a value of QAR 7.09 million.
