Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended the week on Thursday, 14 September, losing QAR 11.1 billion ($3.1 billion).
Over the week, the main index fell 3.07% or 265.98 points to 8,409.48 points, from 8,675.46 points last week.
Market capitalisation dropped 2.4% to QAR 458.86 billion from QAR 470.16 billion.
The traded value totalled QAR 1.25 billion, as compared to QAR 422.19 million the week before, growing 183.4%.
The trading volume also rose 209.3% to 58.3 million shares from 18.9 million shares.
Executed transactions during the week increased 166.1% to 15,400 transaction, as compared to 5,800 last week, which had only two sessions, due to Eid Al Adha.
The banks sector was the leader in terms of traded value with 40.6%, followed by the industrial, telecommunications, and transportation sectors with 17.4%, 15.5%, and 13.1%, respectively.
On the other hand, the telecommunication sector topped in terms of trading volume with 31.3%, followed by the banks, industrial, and real estate sectors, with 30.9%, 21.2%, and 7.2%, respectively.
Qatar Navigation led the 29 losing stocks, with a 14.3% drop, while 11 stocks rose, topped by Qatar General Insurance with 5.3%, with only five stocks remained stable.
QNB was the leader in terms of trading value with 14.7%, followed by Vodafone Qatar and Qatar Navigation with 11.7% and 9.2%, respectively.
