QSE drops 326 pts in April; market cap loses QAR 14bn

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) slid 3.14% or 326.25 points reaching 10,064.35 points in April, compared to 10,390.6 points by the end of March.

The QSE’s market capitalisation dropped 2.51% or QAR 13.98 billion to reach QAR 542.37 billion by the end of April, from QAR 556.35 billion in the month before.

Liquidity retreated by 54.62% to QAR 4.67 billion in April, against QAR 10.29 in March, while traded volume decreased 36.78% reaching 181.23 million shares against 286.66 million in the previous month.

The number of implemented transactions tumbled by 40.57% to reach 61,640 in April, compared to 103,720 transactions in March.

Eleven out of the 44 companies listed on QSE increased, while 32 stock prices declined and only one company remained stable.
