QSE drops 37.81 pts at close Thursday

Doha- Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed 0.36% or 37.81 points down to 10,451.47 points at the closing of Thursday’s trading session.

The insurance sector led losers with 0.73%, while the banks sector fell 0.57% due to a decline in Dlala Brokerage and Investment Holding, Masraf Al Rayan, National Leasing Holding Company, and Al Khalij Bank by 1.47%, 1.16%, 1.15%, and 1.03%, respectively.

The industrials sector slid 0.45% led by Aamal with 1.1%, followed by Gulf International Services, Qatar Electricity and Water Company, and Industries Qatar, which went down 0.89%, 0.64%, and 0.54%, respectively.

The transportation sector tumbled 0.4% due to a decrease in Milaha by 0.66% and Nakilat by 0.38%.

Qatar Islamic Insurance topped falling stocks with 2.86%, whereas Medicare Group led the risers with 3.47%.

Liquidity on the QSE dropped to QAR 173.13 million on Thursday against QAR 201.2 million on Wednesday, while traded volume decreased to 6.61 million shares against 7.65 million shares.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of trading volume with 1.75 million shares traded, while Mazaya Qatar topped in terms of traded value with QAR 18.63 million.

Earlier on Thursday, the benchmark index had inched down 0.03% to 10,485.62 points.
