QSE drops 9.65 pts on banks, services at Tuesday’s open

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) declined 0.1% or 9.65 points to reach 10,108.48 points in Tuesday’s early trades.

By 10:00 am Qatar time, most of the sectors fell, with the exception of the transportation sector which rose 0.62%, and the real estate sector which gained 0.21%.

The banks sector decreased 0.34%, as Doha Bank, Qatar National Bank (QNB), and Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) lost 0.78%, 0.71%, and 0.49%, respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector tumbled 0.25% after Zad Holding Company went down 2.88%, followed by Widam Food with 0.82%, and Salam International Investment Ltd with 0.29%.

The telecoms sector levelled down 0.23%, while the industrials sector dropped 0.11% as Aamal, Qatar Electricity and Water Company (QEWC), and Gulf International Services decreased 0.61%, 0.38%, and 0.33%, respectively.

Al Khaleej Takaful Group was the worst performer with 3.37%, whereas Gulf Warehousing led risers with 1.57%.

Liquidity reached QAR 21.52 million after 621,400 shares were traded through 364 transactions.

Masraf Al Rayan led in terms of traded volume with 162,130 shares exchanged, at a value of QAR 6.89 million.
