QSE drops on all-sector drop Sunday

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday in the red, registering its third fall in a row, pressured by a collective decline of its sectors.

The general index retreated 0.83% or 73.04 points to close the first session of the week at 8,752.66 points.

Turnover fell to QAR 198.83 million on Sunday from QAR 281.03 million on Thursday, while volume dropped to 11.59 million shares traded versus 16.39 million shares.

The real estate sector led losers, falling 1.81%, pressured by three of its stocks, particularly Barwa Real Estate, which lost 2.34%, while the banking sector shed 0.78% after Qatar National Bank (QNB) tumbled 1.10%.

The industrial sector was down 0.32% after the Investors’ stock declined 1.64%.

Medicare Group led fallers, sliding 9.59%, while Al Ahli Bank of Qatar led gainers, surging 8.64%.

Qatar First Bank (QFB), down 3.01%, was the most active in terms of value and volume with QAR 24.9 million and 3.5 million shares.
