QSE edges down 0.26% at Sunday’s close

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) general index slid 27.52 points, or 0.26%, at the end of Sunday’s session to close at 10,760.23 points.

The QSE’s liquidity tumbled to QAR 169.03 million on Sunday, from QAR 275.17 million in the previous session, while trading volume retreated to 7.81 million shares, against 10.37 million on Thursday.

The goods sector led decliners with 0.36% after Zad Holding shed 3.24%.

Meanwhile, the industrials sector went down 0.29%, pressured by Industries Qatar, the second heaviest-weighted stock in the general index, which plunged 0.47%.

The banking sector fell 0.08%, as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) declined 0.03%, while Ahli Bank led risers with 9.33%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector was the only riser with 1.02%, after Ezdan Holding Group and United Development grew 1.58% and 0.37%, respectively.

Qatar First Bank’s stock, which was stable at QAR 4.17, topped the QSE in terms of trading volume with 1.57 million shares, while Industries Qatar posted the highest turnover with QAR 19.55 million.
