Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw a negative performance on Monday on the back of the leading shares.
The general index fell 1.24% or 129.72 points to reach 10,361.43 points
Qatar National Bank (QNB) led the losing shares and decreased 2.69%, followed by Qatar Industries and Ezdan which went down 0.7% and 0.65%, respectively.
The banks sector topped the worst performers and slid 1.58% due to a decrease in the Commercial Bank of Qatar (CBQ) by 4.69%.
On the other hand, the consumer goods sector topped gainers and added 1.44%, backed by Medicare Group which hiked 7.68%.
The transport sector also went up 0.18% supported by Gulf Warehousing, which inched up 0.77%.
Turnover increased to QAR 567.9 million, compared to QAR 360.8 million on Sunday. Trading volume also rose to 16.1 million shares, compared to 9.6 million shares yesterday.
National Leasing Holding was the most active in terms of traded volume exchanging 2.6 million shares, while QNB topped the turnover with QAR 95.6 million.
