Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Sunday’s trading session in the green, supported by the growth of four sectors, amid low liquidity.
The general index rose 21.8 points, or 0.21%, to finish the first session of the week at 10,390.01 points.
The bourse’s liquidity decreased by 58.3% to QAR 108.18 million on Sunday from QAR 259.23 million on Thursday, while the trading volume declined 51% to 2.9 million shares against 5.91 million in the previous session.
The good and services sector topped the QSE’s risers adding 1.32%.
On the negative side, the insurance sector headed the bourse’s losers falling 0.54%.
By the end of the session, Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock, which rose 2.49%, led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 38.09 million, while Barwa Real Estate Development’s stock, which advanced 1.03%, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 422,410 shares.
