QSE ends Sunday higher amid thin liquidity

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s trading in the green, encouraged by the growth of all sectors, amid thin liquidity.

The general index rose 51.72 points, or 0.57%, to 9,079.43 points.

The QSE’s liquidity slid 40.9 to QAR 169.7 million on Sunday from QAR 287.33 million on Thursday, while the trading volume decreased 3.8% to 7.02 million shares against 7.3 million in the previous session.

The insurance sector topped the QSE’s gainers after adding 1.5%, followed by the industrial sector, which grew 1.3%.

Similarly, the real estate sector levelled up 0.72% after Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development increased 2.1%.

Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which advanced 0.63%, topped the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 39.84 million, while Qatar First Bank’s stock, which rose 0.3%, led the bourse in terms of trading volume with 2.06 million shares.
