QSE ends Sunday in green

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Sunday’s trading in green territory, backed by four rising sectors.

The general index edged up 67.19 points, or 0.77%, finishing the session at 8,816.84 points.

Transactions on the Qatari stock market have declined today, as liquidity retreated to QAR 185.58 million from QAR 241.43 million on Thursday.

Meanwhile, trading volume narrowed to 10.05 million shares from 11.18 million shares in the previous session.

The real estate sector led top gainers with 1.16%, as Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development rose 8.04%.

The industrial sector added 0.86%, as Qatari Investors gained 2.32%.

Similarly, the banking sector levelled up 0.66% on the back of the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB), which jumped 1.18%.

On the other hand, the goods sector was the sole faller with 0.76%, dragged down by Qatar for Cinema and Film Distribution, which shed 2.70%.

Vodafone Qatar, up 0.44%, led the QSE in terms of trading volume with 25 million shares, generating QAR 23.3 million in liquidity.
