Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday in the red zone after falling 0.75% or 69.81 points to reach 9,188.09 points.
The banks sector lost 1.22% as Ahli Bank decreased 4.35% and Qatar National Bank (QNB) dropped 2.53%, registering its lowest level in four years.
The real estate sector declined 0.85% after Barwa went down 1.2%.
On the other hand, the transportation sector rose 1.53% as Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd (Nakilat) increased 2.27%.
Doha Insurance Group was the worst performer with 9.09%, whereas Al Khaleej Takaful Group led risers with 7.6%.
Traded volume slid to 9.79 million shares on Sunday against 26.66 million shares on Thursday, while liquidity tumbled to QAR 219.49 million from QAR 644.43 million.
Vodafone Qatar’s stock led in terms of traded volume with 2.6 million shares exchanged, increasing 0.58%, while QNB’s stock was the most active in terms of traded value with a turnover of QAR 40.1 million, dropping 2.53%.
Earlier on Sunday, the benchmark index levelled down 0.20% or 18.33 points, reaching 9,239.57 points.
