Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Sunday in the red, amid a collective decline of its sectors and falling trading activity.
The QSE’s general index dropped 0.77% or 79.74 points to close at 10,332.77 points.
Turnover retreated to QAR 219.6 million on Sunday from QAR 664.9 million on Thursday, while traded volume nearly halved to 13.9 million shares exchanged against 27.3 million in the previous session.
Sectors were down collectively on Sunday, led by real estate with 1.58%, weighed by three stocks, particularly Ezdan Holding, which lost 2.25%.
The industrial sector decreased 1.07% after Industries Qatar shed 1.93%, while the bank sector was the lowest faller, slipping 0.29%, after nine stocks ended in the red, led by Qatar National Bank (QNB) which declined 0.14%.
Qatar Cinema topped the QSE’s losers, plunging 7.99%, whereas Mazaya Qatar led gainers, adding 1.64%.
Qatar Aluminum (QAMCO), up 0.21%, topped the QSE in terms of trading activity, logging QAR 133.9 million in turnover after 9.2 million shares were exchanged.
