QSE ends Thursday in green

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Thursday’s trading session in green territory, encouraged by the growth of five sectors,.

The general index inched up 0.05%, or 4.7 points, to finish at 9,981.22 points.

By the end of the last session this week, the bourse’s liquidity decreased by 22.5% to QAR 184.93 million from QAR 238.57 million on Wednesday, while the trading volume increased 10.4% to 7.34 million shares against 6.65 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 1.5%.

On the flipside, the banking sector headed the bourse’s decliners falling 0.07%, followed by the telecommunication sector which dropped 0.05%.

By the end of the session, Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock, which inched down 0.01%, led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 21.53 million, while Ezdan Holding Group’s stock, which rose 2.6%, led the market in terms of trading volume with 1.48 million shares.
