Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) closed Thursday’s trading session in the green, encouraged by heavy trades.
The general index rose 35 points, or 0.34%, to close the last session of the week at 10,364 points.
The bourse’s liquidity hiked 376% to QAR 1.16 billion on Thursday from QAR 243.5 million on Wednesday, while the trading volume surged 352% to 34.3 million shares against 7.58 million in the previous session.
The industrial sector topped the QSE’s gainers adding 2.6%, followed by the transportation and banking sectors with 0.59% and 0.56%, respectively.
Meanwhile, the real estate sector headed the bourse’s losers falling 0.54%, while the insurance sector inched down 0.03%.
By the end of the session, Doha Bank’s stock led the market in terms of trading volume with 13.5 million shares, generating QAR 289.85 million in liquidity.
