QSE ends Thursday in red zone

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) slid 1.13%, or 115.75 points, to reach 10,089.86 points at Thursday’s closing.

Most of the sectors dropped with the exception of the insurance sector, which grew 0.18%.

The consumer goods and services sector was the worst performer, falling 2.01% after Zad Holding retreated 6.75%.

The industrials sector shed 2% as Aamal and Industries Qatar lost 3.56% and 2.98%, respectively.

The bank’s sector decreased 0.98% after Islamic Holding Group levelled down 2.9% and Qatar National Bank (QNB) tumbled 2.18%.

Al Khaleej Takaful Group was the best performer with 4.71%.

Traded volume increased to 9.9 million shares against 8.88 million shares on Wednesday, while liquidity reached QAR 276.68 million against QAR 232.75 million in the previous session.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume with 2.03 million shares, and QNB led in terms of trading value with a liquidity of QAR 45.27 million.

Earlier on Thursday, the main index lost 0.33%, reaching 10,172.11 points.
