QSE ends Thursday up

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Thursday’s trading in the green after the general index grew 1.19% to 8,621.34 points, adding 101.13 points.

The QSE’s liquidity decreased to QAR 396.64 million on Thursday from QAR 609.96 million on Wednesday, while traded volume dropped to 17.17 million shares against 23.30 million in the previous session.

The telecommunications sector topped the gainers with 5.64% after Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar surged 6.22% and 2.64%, respectively.  

Similarly, the industrial sector levelled up 1.24% on the back of Investment Holding’s 4.27% rise.

The banking sector went up 0.74%, topped by Qatar Islamic Bank which advanced 3.09%.

Meanwhile, the insurance sector declined 2.60%, weighed down by Qatar Insurance and Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance Company which shed 2.94% and 2.62%, respectively.

The real estate sector inched 0.11% down after Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development fell 2%. Ezdan Holding Group dropped 0.82%, in sympathy.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most actively-traded stock on the QSE in terms of traded volume with 4.4 million shares, generating QAR 36.3 million.
