QSE ends Tuesday down; real estate, industry weigh

Doha – Mubasher: The main index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday in the red zone after dropping 0.43% or 39.71 points, reaching 9,095.45 points.

The insurance sector decreased 0.82%, while the real estate sector shed 0.65% as Ezdan Holding Group lost 0.94% and United Development Company declined 0.57%.

The industrials sector fell 0.54% after Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC), Industries Qatar, and Gulf International Services went down 2.65%, 1.73%, and 0.99%, respectively.

On the other hand, the transportation sector rose 1.17% as Gulf Warehousing surged 6.9%.

Traded volume increased to 13.61 million on Tuesday against 13.09 million on Monday, whereas liquidity slid to QAR 268.94 million from QAR 677.68 million.

Vodafone Qatar’s stock was the most active in terms of trading volume with 5.65 million shares exchanged at a turnover of QAR 44.11 million.

Earlier on Tuesday, the benchmark index decreased 0.19% or 17.17 points to reach 9,117.19 points.
