QSE ends Tuesday down

Mubasher: The Qatar stock exchange (QSE) ended Tuesday’s trading session with negative performance, pressured by the fall of three secrtors.

The general index inched down 0.95 points, or 0.01%, to finish the mid-week session at 10,355.67 points.

The bourse’s liquidity increased to QAR 313.96 million on Tuesday from QAR 289.08 million on Monday, while the trading volume levelled up to 9.28 million shares against 9.13 million in the previous session.

The goods sector topped the QSE’s losers falling 0.73% as Qatar Fuel (Woqod) levelled down 1.08%, while the industrial sector retreated 0.45% due to Qatar National Cement’s 2.16% drop.

On the other hand, the real estate sector headed the bourse’s gainers adding 1.33% as Ezdan Holding Group rose 2.43%.

Similarly, the banking sector inched up 0.10% as the heavyweight Qatar National Bank (QNB) advanced 0.06%.

By the end of the session, QNB’s stock led the QSE in terms of liquidity with QAR 64.8 million, while Mazaya Qatar’s stock, which plunged 1.02%, spearheaded the market in terms of trading volume with 1.6 million shares.
