QSE ends Tuesday in decline

Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Tuesday with a negative performance after its main index plunged 133.74 points, or 1.29%, to 10,233.88 points.

By the end of the mid-week session, the bourse’s traded volume stood at 7.6 million shares, down from 11.8 million during Monday’s session, while liquidity slumped to QAR 113.6 million, from QAR 233.9 million.

The real estate sector led losers with 2.70% as Ezdan Holding Group’s stock dipped 3.54%.

The banks and financial services sector went down 1.55% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock lost 1.53%, while Ahli Bank’s stock rose 3.35%.

The industrials sector levelled down 1.24% as Qatar Aluminums Manufacturing Company’s (QAMCO) stock tumbled 6.52%.

On the other hand, the insurance sector inched up 0.71% after Qatar General Insurance and Reinsurance (QGRI) and Qatar Insurance Company stocks’ gained 1.59%, and 0.53%, respectively.

QAMCO’s stock led the QSE in both trading volume and value after 4.29 million shares were exchanged through 3,140 transactions at a turnover of QAR 57.04 million.
